Master Class Students of Department of Business Administration, Asia University Travel to Qingdao for Overseas Training!

    An elite entrepreneur overseas-visit delegation of 23 people from the master class of the Department of Business Administration, Asia University, led by the Department Director Shi-Liang Chen and Associate Professor Ting-Chang Chang, went to Qingdao City, Shandong Province on July 13 for a 7-day overseas training trip. Chen said that the development prospects of Qingdao are very broad. Qingdao and Taiwan have a lot of opportunities for cooperation, especially in the modern service and the high-tech industry. He hoped that the entrepreneurs on this trip may find suitable development opportunities for cooperation.

   The delegation of the overseas trip was warmly welcomed by Yan Fang, Qingdao’s Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office, and Qing Lin, President of Taiwan Federation of Trade Unions. Director Fang of the Taiwan Affairs Office expressed appreciation for the achievements of Asian University in Taiwan. She expressed admiration for the continuing learning spirit of the entrepreneurs of the master class, and hoped that all of them would have fruitful gains in Qingdao. She made an all-round promotion of Qingdao’s economic and social development and achievements, including the “one belt one road” construction in Qingdao, the cultural environment, the investment environment, the location advantage and the development planning, as well as Qingdao’s Olympic Games sailing regatta, Horticultural Exposition, Beer Festival and the development of the West Coast New Economic District.

    Feeling the advantage of Qingdao and the government’s efficient and professional services to enterprises, especially after learning that the Taiwanese enterprises in Qingdao are developing well, Sheng-Yi Luo, General Manager of Taiwan Sego-Tino Biochemical Co., Ltd. expressed his intention to invest and develop his business in Qingdao in the future.

   Ting-Chang Chang, Associate Professor of the Department of Business Administration pointed out that Qingdao Vocational and Technical College of Hotel Management that the delegation visited, as introduced by the College’s Vice Principal Hong-Bin Diao, is the first college in Shandong Province that is devoted to hotel management, and is number one in cultivating hotel management talents in the country. Li Zhou, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Chang-Yu Wang, Dean of the School of Hotel Engineering, Li Xu, Director of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management, and Yong Zhang, Director of the School of Hotel Engineering were also invited to participate in a forum. The two sides exchanged views on student employment and teaching ideas, and looked forward to further exchanges between the two schools.

   The enterprise delegation visited the Lalu Qingdao. Under the leadership of General Manager Wen-Chao Huang, the members gained the knowledge of its development process. Not only in Shandong Province, the Lalu is already a Taiwanese hotel and cultural creation brand all over China. General Manager Huang introduced the Lalu’s marketing strategy, customer relationship management and brand management to enable the delegation members to understand the most realistic management practice in mainland China.

   Lin-Er Hsieh, master class student of the Department of Business Administration, Asia University and General Manager of Genyuan Construction Company, said that this corporate and academic visit to Qingdao was important for the delegation to have a deep understanding of the saying that a trip of a thousand miles is more valuable than reading ten thousand books, and to witness the practical application side of business knowledge. Even in mainland China where the language is the same, there are many differences in management. This trip to China really allowed the students to gain their knowledge.
